Warby Parker glasögon i New York
Warby Parker, det amerikanska glasögonföretaget som arbetar efter "buy one-give one", har en fin butik i Chelsea, NewYork. Den ligger i samma kvarter som den södra änden av High Line. Vi kom dit strax innan klockan elva och då stod det redan en skara kunder som väntade på att de skulle öppna.
Väl inne i butiken möts man av en New York-kädis: Darcel från Darcel Disappoints. Han hänger på två stora tavlor rakt fram, direkt bakom kassan. Den stora butiken är snarlik den i SoHo (samma hyllsystem) men enligt personalen har varje butik en egen stil och ett eget sortiment. Darcel finns till exempel bara här i Chelseabutiken.
Personalen ja; jättetrevlig och hjälpsam. Och ung vilket passar perfekt eftersom kunderna främst är ungdomar. De berättar gärna om hur buy one-konceptet funkar. Pengerna som genereras via detta används till att i utvecklingsländer utbilda inom optik och hjälper till att sätta upp optikbutiker på orter där ingen optiker finns.
Warby Parker har massor med fina modeller i en kvalite som känns ok sett till priset cirka 100 USD inklusive glas. Om man är här bara några dagar hinner man inte få glasögonen men man kan köpa bara bågen och då drar de av 10-15% på priset.
